The Campaign Overview for Ware Academy

Since 1949, Ware Academy has empowered students to achieve academic excellence - emphasizing the development of mind, body, and character. Today we are entering the next chapter of that legacy: a purpose-built Upper School that gives our oldest students the spaces they have earned and the foundation they deserve as they prepare for what comes next.

Upper School Classrooms, New Modern Hands-on Science Lab, and a Flexible Multipurpose Space

What We're Building:

A 5,900 sq. ft. purpose-built Upper School addition that includes: 
  • Three dedicated academic classrooms (Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics)
  • A modern, hands-on science lab 
  • Flexible multipurpose space for the whole school community
A cascade benefits every grade: the current science lab becomes a dedicated art room, and the relocation of the music program expands library space for all students.

Ware Academy is fully accredited, enjoying the benefits of membership with the Virginia Association of Independent Schools. Other memberships: Virginia Council of Private Education, National Association of Independent Schools, National Junior Honor Society, Independent School Management, Gloucester Chamber of Commerce, and the Gloucester Main Street Association.
