Ware’s Basketball Opener

















Ware Academy MIddle School students opened its basketball season at home with a nail biter against Peasley Middle School.  Captains, Alex Milligan and Denison Glovier kept the team upbeat while they battled the Lions. The Lions led Ware by one point going into the second half and were able to continue that lead to win the game.  The final score was 27-23 in favor of Peasley.


The Lady Waves fought a hard game but were defeated by the Lady Lions 19-6 in their season opener.  


The Ware Boys’ Varsity Team faced Hampton Roads Academy on December 4, for its second game of the season.  Ware was down by one going into the second half. Seventh grader, Evan Frazier was a steady scorer throughout the game with help from his fellow seventh grade teammate, Christopher Scott. Eighth graders, Colton Bonniville and Denison Glovier provided solid play and steady action, and the Waves were able to hold The Navigators to a ten point advantage by the end of the game.  


Ware Boys’ and Girls’ JV teams traveled to Aylett Country Day School to compete with the Patriots.  The JV Girls team found its rhythm late in the fourth quarter but were unable to secure a win against the Lady Patriots losing 22-6.  Our JV Boys’ team dominated with their offensive and defensive skill to win 24-14.


All four basketball teams will travel to Aylett Country Day on January 8, 2019.  Ware’s Varsity teams will compete in their first ISAC game of the season.
