Jaik Henderson Named as Ware Academy’s Director of Development

Mr. Jaik Henderson has been named as the Director of Development for Ware Academy. A Mathews County resident for over twenty years, Mr. Henderson has extensive experience with running nonprofit membership organizations. Recently Mr. Henderson has worked as an independent consultant for Chesapeake Environmental Communications, the Mathews Land Conservancy and the Arts on Main in Gloucester. Prior to his consulting work, Mr. Henderson was the President and COO for the P. Buckley Moss Galleries in Mathews County as well as serving as the Executive Director of the P. Buckley Moss Society. Throughout his career Mr. Henderson has specialized in fundraising for nonprofit initiatives, marketing, community outreach, brand management, strategic planning and value proposition. Tom Thomas, Head of School, states that “We are extremely fortunate to have Mr. Henderson join the Ware Academy advancement team and community. His breadth of experience with fundraising and cultivation of patrons of the arts and overseeing projects which would also directly benefit the community make Jaik a perfect fit for Ware’s strategic initiatives for growth. Mr. Henderson has also developed collaborative relationships with schools, creating after school art programs for children of all artistic abilities. His involvement with the arts strengthens our commitment to art education and programs for our students.” Mr. Henderson and his wife, Betsy, are also past Ware Academy parents; both of their daughters attended Ware and graduated from the school.
