Congratulations to the WAVES' Varsity Volleyball Team

for a great season!

The Ware Academy Waves’ Varsity Volleyball Team finished its season undefeated on Monday, November 2nd as they defeated Collegiate School of Richmond in two straight games 25 – 14 and 27 – 25. The victory gave the Waves a perfect 7 – 0 record on their season, the first in school history. In addition, brings their winning streak to 13 straight over the past two seasons and their 18th win in their last 20 matches. 

“I am extremely proud of how hard these young ladies worked this season, especially the eighth graders,” Coach Ed Gardiner said.  The Waves claimed their wins over three schools from the Richmond area: Steward School, Collegiate, and St. Catherine’s; along with Denbigh School from Newport News.  Ware was led by their eighth graders: Jacqueline Stewart, Caroline Henderson, Madison Thomas, and Kelly Nelson who consistently displayed strong skill work with great serves, sets, and kills.

Victoria Wilson, Makenzie Fletcher, and Sabrina Barrack added outstanding contributions through their play and gave Ware a bright future along with Rachel Stewart, Olivia Gwyn, and Ashley Waite as each of them return next year.
